A+ for Effort

Hawkins County Memorial Hospital
“Wish We Had A Brand New MRI”
Rogersville, TN

Hawkins County Memorial Hospital recently participated in a national contest among small community hospitals to win a Siemens MRI unit worth about $1.5 million.

Voting ended December 31, and the winners will be announced January 18th on the Siemens contest website.  Based on the site stats, the clear winner appears to be Sumter Regional Hospital Hospital in Americus, GA. The hospital, which recorded 260,336 votes, was demolished when a tornado touched down on March 1, 2007.

While Hawkins Memorial did not gain enough votes to stay competitive, it was an outstanding effort nonetheless – and 4,509 votes ain’t too shabby.
