The Citizen Tribune reports:
At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, John Brice Howe Jr., age 54 of Rogersville, Tennessee, was injured in a boating accident on Cherokee Reservoir. The incident occurred in Grainger County in the German Creek embayment. Howe was alone and operating a 2001 Ranger bass boat with a 225 h.p. outboard. Howe was injured when his boat struck the shoreline. He was ejected onto the shoreline during the accident. Howe was transported to Morristown Hamblen Hospital and then immediately transferred to UT Medical Cent in Knoxville.
The incident continues to be under investigation by TWRA wildlife officers.
Howe is the husband of Rogersville Alderwoman Ann Howe.
