Superintendent of Roads
Lowell Bean wins with 52.47% followed by Dennis Lowe with 19.04% and Scott Helton with 17.65%. A total of 8403 votes were cast. Bean will face Riley Jones (D) in the Aug. 5 general election.
Court Clerk Holly Jaynes (R) ran unopposed in the primary and faces no opposition in the general election.
Also running unopposed are Register Judy C. Kirkpatrick (R) and Trustee Patsy Charles-Courtney (R). Current County Clerk A. Carroll Jenkins (D) will face Republican Mike Carpenter in the general election.
For County Commission
In DISTRICT 1, Chris Jones (D, incumbent) and Gary Lawson(D) will face Republicans Dwight M. Carter (incumbent), Thomas Wheeler and former commissioner Syble Vaughan Trent.
In DISTRICT 2 Democrats Benny (Jeff) Barrett and Fred Montgomery (incumbent) will face Republicans Dustin E. Dean, Tom Kern, Jeff Thacker and Independent Fred Castle.
In DISTRICT 3, Republicans Danny C. Alvis (incumbent), Hubert F. Neal and Stacy D. Vaughan (incumbent) will face Independent Donald Phillips.
In DISTRICT 4 Democrat Eddie McNally and Independent Trevor R. Kahl will join Republicans Linda G. Kimbro (incumbent), Virgil L. Mallett (incumbent) and Joe McLain on the ballot for the general election. Current Commissioner Hanes Cooper was defeated in the primary.
In DISTRICT 5, Democrat Eddie Frost will face Republicans Charlie C. Freeman, John C. Metz, and former school board member Glenda Petty Davis.
In DISTRICT 6, Republicans Shane Bailey (incumbent) Darrell W. Gilliam, and Gary W. Hicks, Jr. (incumbent) face no opposition.
In DISTRICT 7, current commissioner J. Carmel Maddox was defeated. Republicans Charlie Newton (incumbent), Robert (Bob) Palmer (incumbent) and Lynn Short face no opposition in the general election.
Unopposed in the General Election are constables Dave Bamberg (R-1), Joey Maddox (R-7), and Charlie Gibson (R-5.) In DISTRICT 2, Democrat Ron Skelton, Jr. will face Republican Freddie Lee Castle, in DISTRICT 4 Democrat Reggie L. Evans will face Republican James T. Hammonds, and in DISTRICT 6, Democrat Scottie Thacker will face Republican Mike Seals and in DISTRICT 3, Republican Kevin Johnson will face Independent Isaac Scott Bellamy.
