Field Trip

You haven’t truly “done the Knoxville Zoo” until you’ve attended with a group of Kindergarteners. Only then will you discover the hilarity of a rhinoceros peeing or learn that butterflies don’t like snort noises and camels poop four whole times during the camel ride.

Taters from the Hoosegow

Inmates at the Sullivan County Jail began planting their annual vegetable garden on Wednesday. The one and a half acre garden will supply the jail cafeteria with fresh produce later this summer.
Sullivan County’s inmate garden could save jail officials $8,400 this year, or about a quarter of the facility’s monthly food bill.

I found this photo in the Citizen Tribune and it nearly made me sick.
The dog in the photo at the right is now named  “Heavenly.”
According to Rocky Farr of the Grainger County Humane Society, she weighed a mere 27 pounds when she walked up on a local woman’s Avondale Hollow property last Thursday.
