According to reports in the Kingsport Times-News, a forest fire, which destroyed 200 acres of mountainous terrain in a remote part of Hawkins County, may have been started intentionally.
Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency Director Gary Murrell told the Times the fire was intentionally set beside Hoglot Road in the Camelot community and burned straight up the side of the mountain. The fire got as close as 300 feet from the homes before being headed off.
