Hawkins County – Gary Murrell, who is sole candidate for the Emergency Management Agency Director post, wooed a group of emergency responders at the Public Safety Committee meeting on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hawkins County Mayor Crockett Lee was likely still fuming over the outcome of Monday’s Budget Committee meeting. According to the Rogersville Review, Lee authorized [...]

Yesterday was one of those days. The kids’ schedules overlapped. Ms. Diva had ballet. Mr. Smartypants had a baseball game. Mr. Dad claimed to be allergic to tutus. So, he attended the game. I transported Diva. Midway through the frou-frou princess fairy dance, where Ms. Diva executed a lovely arabesque-fall-on-your-nose type maneuver (which was impressive [...]

A Fine Toon

Latest offering from my favorite political cartoonist, Clay Jones. Jones toons, talks, calls himself an unreliable conservative… and he’s in a rock band. It’s official. I have just upgraded from admiration to crush.

I received an email this morning containing an alleged transcript of “Jim Moore’s interview with an illegal immigrant.” The immigrant’s name – Juan, naturally. Ron Paul on the Potty

Ron Paul, the Presidential Candidate, is the same Ron Paul, Congressman, who appeared on Political Cesspool with James Edwards. Why yes, Political Cesspool is the same radio talk show that caught the attention of the Southern Law and Poverty Center and was later placed on the annual Hate Group Watch List. Why yes! He is [...]

Assembly Adjourns: Stuff Accomplished

Well, according to Campfield’s blog – it’s over. They’ve adjourned. Of course, most of you know about the big moves made in the state legislature, such as reforming the reform, hiking the tax and declaring indoor (public) places one big giant No-Smoking zone. But what about those other bills? You know those small pieces of [...]
